News release on Lawton design show

The Lawton Gallery at UW-Green Bay will present “Design with Intent: 5 Decades of Design for Communication,” works by John Rieben, Sept. 13-Oct. 4. An opening reception is scheduled from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, with an artist’s talk slated for 5 p.m. The exhibition is a retrospective by Rieben, a UW-Madison emeritus professor, that includes posters and trademarks created during the past 50 years. Prior to his academic career, Rieben was manager of design at Container Corporation of America, design director at UNIMARK International, director of communications at Raychern Corporation, and vice president and creative director at Mobium/RRDonnelley.
