UW-Green Bay listed in guide’s ‘National Liberal Arts’ category
The annual college rankings from U.S. News and World Report are once again making headlines across the country. UW-Green Bay is one of only 28 public institutions listed in the National Liberal Arts College category. The University is listed in the second tier of the category that is dominated by private colleges. Commented UW-Green Bay Chancellor Thomas Harden, “I do want to point out that we are not truly a liberal arts college. We are proud to be a comprehensive public university with graduate and professional programs as well as a full complement of liberal arts majors.” University leaders have been in discussions with the magazine about changing the University’s classification to the more fitting Best Regional Universities category. The change is expected to take place next year.
