Building Resiliency in Supply Chains
How does the world’s supply chain affect you and local business? Join us for an “Expert Spotlight” with David Jerrett on Thursday, June 10, starting at 11:30 a.m. for a conversation about supply chains and building resiliency.
Jerrett’s session was catalyzed by a Wall Street Journal article that was posted on March 18th, 2021, titled: “Everywhere You Look the Supply Chain is a Mess.” Then on March 23rd, the vessel Ever Given got stuck in the Suez Canal, a vital shipping passage, showing how extreme weather and backups in major U.S. ports can exacerbate supply chain issues. After months-long snarls in the global supply chain, the U.S. faced shortages of toilet paper, coffee, and furniture. His session explores the dangers of inaction or status quo and what resiliency might look like.
“Expert Spotlight” is an ongoing series shining a light on local expertise developed and coordinated by the Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement.
