Gophers bounce Phoenix from WNIT with last-minute threes

Leading by five with under a minute left, the Green Bay women’s basketball team surrendered back-to-back threes in the closing seconds as the Minnesota Gophers escaped with a 62-60 win in the opening round of the WNIT on Wednesday evening at Williams Arena. With the loss the Phoenix finished at 22-10 in a season that also included a 16th-consecutive Horizon League regular season championship and a 15th-consecutive 20+ win season. Youth led the way, as freshman Tesha Buck finished with a team-high 18 points, sophomore Kaili Lukan had 15 and freshman Sam Terry had 10. For more on Wednesday’s game.
