Innovation in Access: Student Success is the Cornerstone of New Accelerated Degree Program
Student success is a cornerstone of a brand new Accelerated Degree program available this fall for students pursuing an Associate of Arts and Science Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. As a part of the application and enrollment process, students will work with a dedicated Student Success Coach, who will evaluate their goals and life journey to design a plan that will work for them. The Student Success Coach will analyze students’ transfer college credits and learning experiences outside of formal education through work, military or other experiences and determine how they may apply towards the degree. Students will work with the Student Success Coach during the entirety of their time in the program.
In addition to personalized coaching, the Accelerated Degree is customized to provide flexibility for the working student, providing relevant knowledge and training to enable promotion or career change while balancing home and family. During fall and spring semesters, students will take two classes at a time in six-week sessions, which means that by the end of their first semester, students will have completed two semester sessions of classes. Students will be able to engage with their courses anywhere and anytime as the content will be made available online and through video lectures. Students also have the option to attend in-person lectures with instructors one Saturday a month. During the summer semester, four-week online-only classes will be offered. Accelerated Degree is an offering from the Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement.
