Women cagers on a hot streak, and No. 1 in defense

The UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team looks to win its 14th and 15th straight game this week as it returns to the Kress Center to face Horizon League foes UIC on Thursday and Loyola on Saturday. Game times are at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. The Phoenix women are 21-3 overall (the 10th consecutive 20-win season) and 13-0 in league action. They lead the nation in scoring defense, giving up an average of just 50.3 points per game. The Phoenix has not given up more than 54 points in any league game this season and is on the way to setting a new team record in the category. The 1980-81 squad holds the scoring defense mark by giving up 55.0 points per game.
