Near-upset of No. 1 Alabama highlights softball debut

In its first action of the 2013 season, the Green Bay women’s softball team (0-5) faced stiff competition at the Ramada UNI Dome Tournament held in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Phoenix dropped all four games, but nearly upset No. 1 Alabama, the tournament champions, in Saturday’s matchup. Green Bay entered the final inning tied at 7-7, but a three-run homer sent the defending national champions to the victory. Read more.
