‘LeadGB,’ a popular summer youth leadership camp, is now being offered at UW-Green Bay

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 8, 2024

GREEN BAY, Wis. – UW-Green Bay is proud to welcome two popular and new-to-campus youth leadership programs to the University’s summer program line-up. The ‘LeadGB’ series – LeadGB girls and LeadGB boys will be run by local leaders, Chelsea Faase and Chuck Brehm, known for decades-worth of work in youth leadership. Both Faase and Brehm have an outstanding record of developing and executing youth leadership programs in the Brown County area, and are thrilled to bring their expertise to campus with these new programs.

Registration for the LeadGB series, including sessions for boys and girls, will open on January 23, 2024 at noon.

“We are honored and enthusiastic to have the opportunity to start LeadGB at UW-Green Bay,” said Chelsea Faase, Program Coordinator for LeadGB and director of the LeadGB girls camp. “The campus will afford us the opportunity to take youth leadership to new heights and execute on a curriculum that is both proven and yet new and unique. I am confident the families who have experienced our programming before will be impressed with the ways we can extend our content and grow the opportunities afforded to their children.”

The vision of LeadGB is to create a partnership between the area’s successful and diversified male and female leaders and the young people who will one day take their place. Mentorship, storytelling, and confidence building will be the pillars that ensure the future leaders are successful in whatever endeavor they undertake. Through a combination of challenging hands-on activities, exploration, and developing healthy and positive life choices, the youth within the program will have opportunities to understand who they can grow into as healthy individuals and leaders.

Registration for LeadGB will open on January 23, 2024 at noon. Both LeadGB programs will offer two one-week sessions from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily on the UW-Green Bay Campus. LeadGB girls is for 1st through 8th grade girls and will run June 17-21 and June 24-28, 2024. LeadGB boys is for 4th through 8th grade boys and will run July 8-12 and July 15-19, 2024.
