Scandinavian History to be Explored at the Midwest Viking Festival

The Midwest Viking Festival will explore Scandinavian history this weekend.

Hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, the Midwest Viking Festival will be held on October 4th and 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days.

UW-GB’s Viking House will be on full display showcasing the crafts, traditions, food, and many other aspects of medieval Scandinavia.

Some of the main attractions of the event will be Viking battle demonstrations, music from the era, and conversations with Lars Walker, author of the Erling Skjalgsson Viking series.

Last year, nearly 3,000 individuals gathered to learn about and celebrate Viking culture.

The event is free of admission and will offer family-friendly, interactive activities to learn from experts on Scandinavian history.

More information on the Midwest Viking Festival can be found online at uwgb.edu/viking-house.
