Coverage of first AD finalist
The Green Bay Press-Gazette today (Tuesday, Sept. 24) ran a story on the first of five candidates for the position of Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Kevin Buisman of Minnesota State University, Mankato, spent the day on campus Monday, meeting with various people and introducing himself during a 75-minute public presentation. One of the topics addressed was fundraising, which Buisman said was all about connections. “I think there are a lot of key people involved in the search committee that can help to make those connections in the community,” he said. “They are not coming here to meet. You’ve got to be in their own living room, so to speak. You have to get out to their corporate headquarters and be visible in the community and get out and engage.” The Athletic Director interviews continue today (Tuesday, Sept. 24), with Dan Schumacher, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Chicago State University. He’ll present and take questions beginning at 1:15 p.m. in the Special Events Room at the Kress Events Center. You can link to the Press-Gazette story, as well as our previous news post on the search.
