In the news: Racing Eckelberg siblings have UW-Green Bay ties

Two siblings with UW-Green Bay ties were featured in a fun Thursday (Aug. 15) story in the La Crosse Tribune. Senior Mandi Eckelberg and her brother Jonathan, a 2012 grad, are part of the racing Eckelberg family, and are regular drivers at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway along with their father, Curt. The pair makes the trip from Green Bay to West Salem each week to compete — and to bond with Curt and mom Kim. “It really brings us closer as a family,” said Jonathan, a Communication grad who works at Shopko Corporate Office and Headquarters (after having survived an internship with UW-Green Bay Social Media Specialist Todd Sanders). “Even if we don’t see each other on other nights of the week, every Saturday we spend together as a family.” Nice story.
