New name, new season announced for theater at UWGB’s Marinette campus
MARINETTE (WLUK) — The theater at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Marinette Campus has a new name and a schedule for the upcoming season.
The theater is now called the Bayshore Arts Center.
“This new identity reflects how we have evolved as an artistic venue,” center director Lauryn Albaugh said in a news release. “Bayshore Arts Center is home to Theatre on the Bay, Children’s Theatre, West Shore Chorale and the Fine Arts Gallery.”
The BAC’s 2024-25 season features plays and musicals produced by Children’s Theatre and Theatre on the Bay. There will also be shows produced in partnership with Coastal Players. A concert series and short play festival are also on the schedule.
Other offerings include shows from Let Me Be Frank Productions of Green Bay, West Shore Chorale concerts and exhibits in the fine arts gallery.
“This season has the largest variety of productions and events that I’ve seen in over 10 years. It’s a very exciting time to be involved at the Bayshore Arts Center,” artistic producing director Brittany Welch Pilz said in a news release. “The 2024-2025 season truly holds something for everyone.”
Tickets start at $16.50. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 19 online.
The announcement of the new theater season comes about three months after the last in-person classes were held at UWGB’s Marinette campus.
Marinette County, which owns the buildings, has been working to repurpose or sell the buildings.
