MARINETTE — Marinette County is working on a grant application for not only the fieldhouse, but all UW-Green Bay campus properties in anticipation of an upcoming transfer of the Max E. Peterson Fieldhouse to the Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA.
Marinette County Administrator John Lefebvre told the county board a $2 million grant will be sought from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to repurpose the fieldhouse and UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus buildings.
Lefebvre said to submit the grant application as a single package he must contact the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents to terminate the lease agreement they have with the county.
