In the news: Public Safety’s license plate system enhancing safety on campus
We told you earlier this year that Public Safety has started using Automated License Plate Recognition technology to enhance safety and assist with parking enforcement on campus. The system scans plates for comparison against local, state and federal databases that can ID problems with vehicles on campus (i.e., stolen vehicles, those belonging to people who are banned from campus, etc.). NBC 26 came to campus Wednesday (July 31) to do a story on the new system, speaking with Police Chief Tom Kujawa and Officer Tony Decker about its benefits. See the story.
