Five Wausau School District seniors earn Associate degrees before high school graduation | Wausau Pilot & Review

WAUSAU — Five Wausau School District seniors have earned their Associate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay before their high school graduations, Wausau School District announced this week.

The following graduates will begin their college journey as third-year students as a result of their participation in the Rising Phoenix program:

  • Sophie Matz will attend UW-Green Bay for writing and applied arts
  • Amicus Liss will attend UW-La Crosse for political science
  • Jody Yang will attend UW-Milwaukee for global studies-health
  • Aaron Pickar will attend UW-Eau Claire for biomedical engineering
  • Adrianna Kratwell will attend UW-Madison for psychology

Rising Phoenix is a collaboration between school districts and UW-Green Bay. It provides students with a blend of dual enrollment, ongoing student success coaching, and an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree while still in high school.
