Aldo Leopold classes to be held at UW-Green Bay for rest of the week after fire at school
GREEN BAY – For the rest of the week, Aldo Leopold Community School students will have classes at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay after a fire broke out at the school early Tuesday, the Green Bay School District said.
Classes will be at UWGB on Wednesday through Friday for safety reasons after the fire, the school district said. Friday is students’ last day of school this year.
No one was hurt in the fire, which was report at 3:04 a.m. Tuesday, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department said. Firefighters said there was heavy smoke near the south end of the first floor of the school at 622 Eliza Street. The fire was near the art area, according to the fire department.
Firefighters were able to control the fire in 30 minutes.
An investigation is still ongoing to determine what caused the fire.
Aldo Leopold is a 4K-8th grade school in the Green Bay School District.
