UW-Green Bay Marinette campus fieldhouse may be sold to YMCA

MARINETTE (WLUK) — Marinette County may sell the fieldhouse at the UW-Green Bay Marinette campus to the YMCA for $1, according to next week’s County Board agenda.

UW-Green Bay closed most of the Marinette campus a year ago, although it maintains some operations there, including the theater. As the school was renting the space from Marinette County, the county has been examining options for the site.

According to the “Letter of Intent” on the agenda, the Greater Marinette-Menominee Y.M.C.A, Inc. would acquire 18.63 acres of the site, contingent on several funding mechanisms being met. Those include: The YMCA raising $4 million, and the state and/or county obtaining a grant for $500,000 for site improvements.

The County Board meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the room #112 of the Courthouse, 1926 Hall Ave.
