UWGB begins work on new Cofrin Technology and Education Center
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – On Thursday, UW-Green Bay broke ground on a project that’s more than seven years in the making. Construction has begun for the new Cofrin Technology and Education Center.
The university says the center will replace the Cofrin Library, which will remain open during the construction before being demolished.
Those involved in the ceremony say this will be the first time in 25 years that the university will have a state building on campus.
“Working so closely with First Nations and making sure that it was connected with the university and also the land around us. So I think that’s what’s going to make it really unique and special to the university,” says Karime Galaviz, the UWGB student body president.
The building is scheduled to open in 2027.
