Topic central to 2013 Theatre production is back in the news
Remember These Shining Lives? In March 2013 the UW-Green Bay Theatre program staged the drama chronicling the story of four “Radium Girls” who fought back against their company in the 1920s when the work they did — using radium paint to create glow-in-the-dark watch faces, after numerous assurances of safety — made them gravely ill. We archived a video.
We were reminded of that production by a recent NPR story about the death of the last known Radium Girl, Mae Keane, who by a wise decision and very short tenure in the factory managed to save her health and live until the age of 107. It’s worth a click.
