Noah Jahnke was one of the best cross-country and track and field athletes in the area during his high school career at West De Pere.

But he never had a cross-country season quite like the one he recently completed as a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

There seems to be a new honor or accomplishment every week.

He was named the Horizon League men’s Fall Scholar Athlete on Dec. 18.

He became the first runner in UWGB history to be named the league’s cross-country athlete of the year Dec. 4. It came after he became the first Phoenix to win the individual title at the Horizon League Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Nov. 1. He helped UWGB finish fourth as a team, tying the best finish in program history after it did the same last season thanks in part to Jahnke.
