Phoenix draws SEC power LSU in NCAA first-rounder in Baton Rouge
For the second-straight season, the Green Bay women’s basketball team will return to a site it has played in recent years and open the NCAA Tournament as a road team. No. 20/20 Green Bay (29-2), the Horizon League regular season and tournament champion, received the No. 11 seed in the Spokane Region and will play at No. 6 seed LSU (20-11) in Baton Rouge, La., on Sunday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. CT. Green Bay, winners of 24-straight games, will be making its fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and its eighth appearance in 10 seasons overall under Coach Kevin Borseth. The program will be making its 14th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Horizon tournament MVP Adrian Ritchie and the Phoenix senior class has won at least one NCAA Tournament game in each of the past three seasons and sport a 4-3 overall record in the Big Dance. High-scoring LSU is led by 6-foot-5 junior Theresa Plaisance, who leads four players in double figures at 17.4 points per game. Read more.
