Kaye writes of dissent, veterans and Palin, for Dissent

Maybe Harvey Kaye is running for president? The prolific professor has penned another essay for the online publication Dissent. In it, he takes issue with Sarah Palin’s new book, America by Heart, where she references the “thank a veteran” poem widely circulated on the internet. Kaye objects not to the poem, but to what he sees as undervaluing the “American radical tradition’s contributions to the making of American freedom, equality, and democracy, but also the radical-democratic commitments of generations of American veterans.” Read his essay.
