Social Work Kaleidoscope Project and Book Created by Social Work Faculty
A team of five Social Work faculty recently completed a collaborative research project and book, titled “Kaleidoscope: Learning from Lived Experiences,” which captured the voices of minoritized groups about their experiences of stressful or traumatic events. Faculty include Stephanie Rhee (project lead), Tohoro Francis Akakpo, Joan Groessl, Jolanda Sallmann, and Gail Trimberger. A narrative research approach was used for persons of color to share their experiences and stories through Expressive Writing. The Social Work Kaleidoscope Project received funds for the Research Booster Program from the Research Council and Office of Grants and Research at UW-Green Bay. The project has been added to the UW-Green Bay OER repository and other OER platforms and will be used in social work classes. It can be found here.
