Reminder on Sutton’s plays (and a rave mini-review)
In case you didn’t catch it opening night (or even if you did), there are still three chances to check out Prof. Brian Sutton’s paired one-act plays at Venture Theatre in De Pere. Sutton will stage romantic comedy Running Mates and music revue Can I Buy You a Drink?, featuring 12 of his original songs, Friday (May 25), Saturday (May 26) and next Friday, June 1.
Our resident University Communication theatre critic tells us Running Mates, which is about couples running a fictional “Packerland Marathon,” features clever dialogue, timely humor and several fun references to studying theatre at UW-Green Bay. We’re told the also relationship-themed, Can I Buy You a Drink? has terrific music, talented vocalists and even a song from Sutton’s forthcoming Searching for Romeo, to be staged at the Jean Weidner Theatre July 12-14.
