Mallett joins UW-Green Bay as diversity director

Justin Mallett will begin in his new role as diversity director for UW-Green Bay on July 14. Dean of Students Brenda Amenson-Hill announced the hire today following a national search that brought several candidates to campus earlier this spring. Mallett (pronounced MAL-it, just like the hammer) is currently the director of the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at Illinois College. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College in Madison. A native of north-central Mississippi, he earned his bachelor’s in public relations and a master’s in communication from UW-Stevens Point, where he worked for five years as an admissions counselor. At Illinois College during his tenure, the school saw increases in the overall GPA and retention of minority and international students. Amenson-Hill noted his strong and varied background in admissions, orientation and multicultural affairs. “Thank you to all of the students, faculty and staff that participated in the Diversity Director search process,” Amenson-Hill said.
