Faculty note: Emmons exhibit
Carol Emmons, professor of Art and Design, is exhibiting a new site-specific installation at the Wriston Galleries at Lawrence University. The exhibit runs through May 4, a public opening reception and artist talk at 6 p.m. this Friday (April 4). Titled Cosmogony 2.0, the work re-imagines the origins of the cosmos — albeit as the product of a somewhat maladroit tinkerer’s workshop. Incorporating a range of references from creation stories, alchemy, and astronomy, the work proposes models for the origins of the universe via objects like mirrors, doll cribs, ladders, and Christmas tree ornaments.
