Tompkins will retire a ‘Phoenix’
If the name “Francine Tompkins” jumped out at you from our list of emeriti honorees, well, yes, it’s true: She hasn’t worked on the UW-Green Bay campus since 2001, when she moved to UW System Administration as an academic planner and director of PK-16 initiatives. However, it is also true that she retained a backup appointment on the UWGB Education faculty. Hence, her eligibility for emerita status here upon her retirement. In any event, Tompkins has been a force for PK-16 innovation and improvement statewide. She joined the faculty here in 1990 and was chairperson of the Education Program and founding director of the Institute for Learning Partnership.
