Kraft on ethanol: Keep subsidies but move away from corn
Prof. Emeritus Mike Kraft has written a newspaper column weighing in on the controversial issue of ethanol subsidies. The piece, which ran in Sunday’s (Jan. 13) Green Bay Press-Gazette (and has appeared elsewhere) recommends keeping the subsidies — for now — but changing the rules to gradually move away from the use of corn. The column outlines what exactly the ethanol mandate is, and explores whether it should be kept as is, reformed or discarded. It appeared as part of a pro-con analysis on Sunday’s Press-Gazette opinion page, and also in the Arizona Daily Star. Full article.
