Phoenix hires MU assistant Franklin as new volleyball coach

UW-Green Bay Athletics has named Michaela Franklin head coach of the Phoenix volleyball program. She spent the last four years as an assistant coach with a strong Big East program, Marquette University. Prior to Marquette, Franklin was an assistant coach at Northern Illinois. She was also a collegiate player at Kansas State, where she graduated with a bachelor’s in family studies and human services in 2005. While at KSU, Franklin helped the Wildcats to three NCAA Tournament appearances. Franklin takes the reins of the program from Debbie Kirch, who resigned from the position after 16 seasons to take an assistant AD role in the athletics department.
