Reception to welcome Gillespie runs from 4 to 5:30 Tuesday

The UW-Green Bay community is invited to welcome Mary Ellen Gillespie at an informal reception from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 22) in Phoenix Room C of the University Union. Chancellor Tom Harden announced Thursday that Gillespie will succeed Ken Bothof as Phoenix athletics director. Currently associate athletics director for external relations at Bowling Green State University, Gillespie also has higher education experience with Purdue, the University of Iowa and Plattsburgh State in New York. Tuesday’s reception is open to all.

News conference in the morning
Mary Ellen Gillespie will be formally introduced to the local sports media by UW-Green Bay Chancellor Tom Harden at a news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 22) at the Special Events Room of the Kress Events Center. Faculty, staff and friends of the program are welcome to attend and listen in. The program will also be streamed live on the Horizon League Network, www.horizonleague.org/live/10102.
