‘The Mission’ is Tuesday evening

The second film of the South American Film series this fall will be shown Tuesday (Sept. 30) from 4:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the Union’s Christie Theatre. The winner of the 1986 Cannes Film Festival’s Best Picture Award, The Mission was filmed amid spectacular scenery along the Paraguayan and Argentine borders but depicts the brutal subjugation of the indigenous Guarani people by 18th century colonial powers.
