Social Justice Summit: Promoting Anti-Oppressive Practices in our Communities
- Wednesday, June 7, 2023
- 9 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
- UW-Green Bay campus
The mission of UW-Green Bay’s professional programs in social work is to promote social justice in a diverse and evolving world by engaging in practices that elevate human and community well-being. This year’s summit is themed “Promoting Anti-Oppressive Practices in our Communities” and will focus on current issues of social justice in Northeast Wisconsin.
Sheng Lee Yang is the keynote speaker. Between a pandemic, economic woes and identity politics, you might find yourself concerned on how to promote anti-oppressive practices in our communities. Whether you feel you are leading your organization in diversity efforts or feel like you have been left behind with little direction, this keynote will provide some guidance on how to challenge the status quo.
The summit takes place in-person on the Green Bay campus from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and costs a nominal $20. Attendance earns continuing education hours. Learn more and register on the website.
