Seeking participants: ‘Boxes and Walls’ initiative coming this spring
The UW-Green Bay Diversity Task Force is seeking students and staff for this spring’s “Boxes and Walls,” a multi-sensory exhibition that will compel visitors to confront some of society’s most challenging and complex issues. The Boxes and Walls experience will demonstrate the reality of hate crimes and covert and open acts of oppression as our community experiences them, engaging attendees in topics such as war, culture, transgender, homelessness, racism, sexism, homophobia, body image, classism, ableism and ageism. Participants will be guided through rooms in which they will view or participate in various scenarios, and then will engage in a discussion to reflect on what they’ve experienced. If you or your class would be willing to host one of the rooms, or help out in any way, please contact Jeff Willems at Willemsj@uwgb.edu or 465-2962.
