UW-Green Bay Sustainability Committee programs
The UW-Green Bay Sustainability Committee sponsors several ongoing programs to support and recognize staff and faculty who promote sustainability on campus. The Sustainability Professional Development Grant provides up to $1,000 to fund professional development activities directly related to supporting sustainability on campus and/or for projects that lead to the infusion of sustainability into any aspect of teaching, including classes, labs, field work and/or undergraduate independent research/study. The Phoenix Green Teacher Award and the Phoenix Green Staff Award recognize instructors and staff members for promoting environmental sustainability through their work. Both awards are open to instructors and staff in all areas. The Sustainability Community of Practice (SCoPe) supports instructors in integrating sustainability-related content into courses. For 2023-24, SCoPE members include Gaurav Bansal, Bardia Batala, Stephanie Evenson, Clif Ganyard, James Kabrhel, Myunghee Jun, Rebecca Nesvet, Karen Stahlheber, Dinesh Yadav, and co-facilitators Georjeanna Wilson-Doenges and David Voelker. Congratulations to this year’s cohort! If you have questions about any of these programs, please contact David Voelker, Sustainability Committee chair, at voelkerd@uwgb.edu.
