National Disability Employment Awareness month

Observed annually in October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities past and present.  We recognize the Disability is part of the Equity Equation.  Please look for posters, blogs and information this month across all UW-Green Bay campuses that celebrates disability and access.  Faculty and staff are encourage to learn more about Designing Accessible Resources by enrolling in this Canvas course to earn an accessibility badge.  This course will articulate the differences between accessibility and accommodations; understand when to use captions and transcripts; apply best practices in accessible digital document design; and know how to use the accessibility checkers built into all Microsoft Office applications, Canvas and Adobe Acrobat Pro.  For more information about this Canvas course, please contact Lynn Niemi, Director of Student Accessibility Services.
