Familia Rodante film and Dia De Los Muertos origins

A month of Hispanic Heritage activities continues through mid-October, including these programs in the next week or so:

Familia Rodante film — Wednesday, Sept. 18, 5 p.m., Christie Theatre, University Union: Familia Rodante is a film about a four-generation Buenos Aires family that take a road trip across the countryside of Argentina. As a family, they deal with cramped, stifling conditions and mechanical setbacks that bring domestic tensions and romantic conflicts to the surface.

Día De Los Muertos: Ofrendas and Origins — Monday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Union Room 103: Milwaukee artist Nicole Acosto will guide workshop participants through a brief history lesson of Día De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) discussing the Mexican celebration and the significance and symbolism of ofrendas offerings. Participants will utilize a variety of supplies to craft their own miniature ofrendas that mirror the symbols they have seen. Supplies provided at workshop. Stop by any time!
