The UW-Green Bay volleyball team (4-4) will welcome a solid Big East program, the Marquette Golden Eagles, to the Kress Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 17) in the season home opener. The Phoenix had its four-match winning streak snapped Saturday, losing both ends of a doubleheader at Northern Iowa. Tuesday’s match vs. Marquette involves first-year Green Bay head coach Michaela Franklin going up against the program she left to join the Phoenix this year. (There’s also an additional bit of local interest: Former West De Pere star Jackie Kocken, a 6-5 starting middle hitter and redshirt freshman for MU, is the daughter of Phoenix Hall of Fame basketball player April Jensen Kocken.)
