Newhart wins first Emmy ahead of November Weidner Center show

Beloved comedian Bob Newhart, who will play the Weidner Center in November, has earned his first primetime Emmy award for a guest stint on TV’s “The Big Bang Theory.” Newhart had been nominated three times for his CBS series “Newhart,” and for previous guest appearances on “ER” and “The Librarian,” according to USA Today. He accepted his award during a recent ceremony that precedes Sunday’s big awards show. You can catch the new Emmy-winner in action at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, during his Weidner Center performance.
