‘Booze and Belts’ mobilization
To motivate motorists to drive sober and buckle up, UW-Green Bay Police will join with other police departments for the statewide “Booze and Belts” campaign from Aug. 15 to Sept. 1 During Booze and Belts Enforcement Program and throughout the year, law enforcement agencies are cracking down on impaired and unbuckled motorists. Last year in Wisconsin, there were approximately 35,000 convictions for drunken driving and nearly 85,000 convictions for failure to fasten safety belts. Last year UW-Green Bay received a $4,000 grant to purchase a speed display board which will be deployed around campus to promote safe driving.
