Signs of spring: softball practice starts


Phoenix softball kicked off its 2015 season with its first official practice on Wednesday (indoors at the Kress, of course). The Phoenix enters the season as the reigning Horizon League champion and will look to defend its title from only a season ago. “We are really excited to get our season underway,” said new head coach Beth Spoehr. (So are we.) Green Bay’s first competition of 2015 will be on Feb. 6, when the Phoenix travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to participate in the UNI-Dome Classic. The first home game, alas, isn’t until at least April 1.
