Black out: Phoenix jersey promo takes aim at fighting cancer

The Phoenix men’s basketball team will trade green for black and white Saturday, Feb. 4, sporting black jerseys at home to fight cancer. The “Black Out Cancer” event will raise money and awareness while temporarily transforming the familiar look of the Phoenix, it was announced this week. The jerseys will be auctioned after Green Bay’s 1 p.m. game versus UW-Milwaukee, and donations to the Bellin Health Foundation also will be accepted during the game. The initiative is a collaborative effort of UW-Green Bay Athletics, Bellin Health and Broadway Automotive, which will match all donations up to $2,500.
