Lawton Gallery at UW-Green Bay to showcase work of faculty artists
The Lawton Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will host “Cabin Fever,” an exhibition featuring the works of four art faculty members, from Feb. 2-23. The show will kick off with an opening reception from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, which will include artists’ talks at 5 p.m.
“Cabin Fever” features the works of Kendra Bulgrin, visiting lecturer in Arts and Visual Design (painting/drawing); Toni Damkoehler, associate professor of Arts and Visual Design (graphic design); Minkyu Lee, assistant professor of Arts and Visual Design (ceramics); and Alison Stehlik, assistant professor of Arts and Visual Design (sculpture). The artists will hold a series of brown bag lunch talks, each of which will take place at noon in the gallery. The dates are as follows: Wednesday, Feb. 8 (Bulgrin); Wednesday, Feb. 15 (Lee); Thursday, Feb. 16 (Damkoehler); and Wednesday, Feb. 22 (Stehlik). The talks are free and open to the public.
“This exhibition offers a wonderful opportunity to become acquainted with the work of four teachers and artists in the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s art program,” said Lawton Gallery Curator of Art Stephen Perkins. “Their works, plus the series of artist talks, will offer a unique glimpse into each artist and his or her style and motivations.”
The Lawton Gallery, located in Theatre Hall on the UW-Green Bay campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive, is open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters. Gallery events are free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.uwgb.edu/lawton.
