UW-Green Bay students and faculty take journey to Germany
and inside the human body
UW-Green Bay Associate Dean Amanda Nelson and Associate Prof. Uwe Pott (Human Biology) guided a team of 18 students in the pre-health professions to Poland and Germany with a four-day workshop at the famous Plastinarium in Guben, Germany. The Plastinarium is the home of the “Body Worlds” exhibits — a scientific method of preserving tissue and vital organs for anatomical display. See more.
UW-Green Bay Public Safety identifies suspects, arrests made in book theft ring
After UW-Green Bay Police identified the suspects, two individuals were taken into custody in Texas on burglary charges related to the theft of more than 60 textbooks valued at more than $12,000 from offices at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in June. The suspects were also wanted in a series of thefts at other colleges and universities. See more.
It is onto the Denver finals for UW-Green Bay’s ‘Wisco Ninja’ Luke Chambers
He made it! Revealed in the July 17 episode of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior, Luke Chambers made it past the Denver qualifier and into the Denver finals — aired nationwide in late August. Chambers, a UW-Green Bay fifth-year senior (Business Administration) with a double major in marketing and management, didn’t complete the difficult course, but made it far enough to stay in the running. Breaking through: UW-Green Bay cuts ribbon on new creative space
With a nod to vision, leadership, innovation and collaboration, the ribbon was cut for the new Breakthrough®Studio space on the third floor of the David A. Cofrin Library, at UW-Green Bay. Library Director Paula Ganyard said she is thrilled about the space which became popular with students as soon as it opened. See more.
UW-Green Bay Student Napho Xiong selected to attend prestigious public health summer program
UW-Green Bay human biology junior Napho Xiong has been selected to participate in the prestigious Summer Public Health Scholars Program (SPHSP) through Columbia University Medical Center in New York. The program is designed for undergraduate students to increase interest in and knowledge of public health and biomedical science careers. See more.
