Press-Gazette talks of Sykes’ ‘gritty upbringing’
A sports feature in the weekend’s Green Bay Press-Gazette says star guard Keifer Sykes gets nervous sometimes when his cell phone rings and the area code number indicates Chicago. Sykes, his family and friends have had to deal with dangerous neighborhoods and their share of tragedies… which adds extra poignancy to the success he’s enjoyed at UW-Green Bay.
