Phoenix run benefits cross country programs

GREEN BAY — The 12th Annual Phoenix 5K Cross Country Fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 18, at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Kress Events Center, 2420 Nicolet Drive.

The race will start at 10:15 a.m., following the kids’ run at 10 a.m. Participants can pre-register before April 12 for $15 and $7 for the kids’ run. Day-of registration is $20 and $10 for the kids’ race. Registration is $12 in advance or $15 on race day for UW-Green Bay students and staff.

The race will feature a flat and fast 3.1-mile paved course that winds through campus. Age groups for men and women include 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54 and over 50.

The top five overall men and women will receive awards, as well as one top individual from each men’s and women’s age group. Each participant will be automatically entered into a raffle drawing, with a chance to win hundreds of dollars in door prizes.

Registration forms are available at the Kress Events Center or on the cross country team’s page of the UW-Green Bay athletics website, www.uwgbathletics.com/. (Download a form here.) Sign-in is at the Kress Events Center from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on the day of the race.
