UW-Green Bay is taking on the stage production of Big Fish next weekend, bringing a good story, big names in collaboration, great dance numbers, wonderful songs and an even better performance.

With a small cast, the show is committed to delivering an intimate performance that explores multiple themes through the lens of a son-father relationship.

The orchestra will be on stage with the performers to fully immerse the audience in the intimate showing version.

“This is a story that shows how we navigate through life,” said Thomas Campbell, theater professor at UW-Green Bay. “We follow a flawed protagonist who makes mistakes, and that’s identifiable.”

The 11-member cast has been working with their hearts on the stage for the last eight weeks. Starting rehearsals on Sept. 18, the performers have put in 117 hours of hard work and attention to every detail to prepare for the curtain opening on Nov. 13, 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m.

“Anytime people engage with stage art and it evokes emotion, then what we’re doing is working,” continued Campbell. “If the show moves someone, then what we do matters.”

If you are interested in viewing the work produced by the cast and crew, as well as the hands and hearts of everyone involved, visit uwgb.edu/theatre/events/.

Tickets are available for $22, $16 for seniors and free for UW-Green Bay students.
