October 3 Event at The Weidner, UW-Green Bay, to Focus on “Building Strength Through Community”
Green Bay, WI — The Eighth Annual Implicit Bias Conference, themed ‘Building Strength Through Community,’ will take place Friday, October 3, 2025, at The Weidner, UW–Green Bay. Presented by We All Rise: African American Resource Center, the Midwest Survivor Institute and UW–Green Bay, the conference will bring together advocates, professionals, policymakers and community members committed to creating equitable systems for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The conference was first launched in 2018 in response to the death of Jonathan Tubby as an urgent call to address the impact of implicit bias on victims and their families. Over the years, it has become a statewide gathering for training, skill-building, and meaningful conversations that advance justice and improve support for those impacted by violence.
“This conference is about more than education—it’s about connection, accountability and action,” said Dr. Renita Robinson, senior director of Client Services at We All Rise, founder of the Midwest Survivor Institute, and conference co-host. “By addressing implicit bias head-on, we can strengthen our communities and ensure that all victims receive the safety, dignity and healing they deserve. This year’s theme builds on that commitment by highlighting the collective power of community.”

About the Implicit Bias Conference
Since its inception in 2018, the Implicit Bias Conference has addressed how bias—both conscious and unconscious—impacts systems, policies, and individual interactions, often resulting in barriers for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Through training, dialogue, and community building, the conference empowers participants to create more equitable, effective, and culturally responsive support networks.
