In early September, Governor Evers visited the classroom of Jodi Resch Brownell at Crandon High School. Crandon was one of three high school classrooms in the state he visited.

Evers joined the class during Spanish IV, a course eligible for dual credit with UW-Green Bay as SPAN 202. He observed a vocabulary review activity with the students, and students shared with him more about all the Spanish opportunities at Crandon High School, including the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) with a Colombian class and studying abroad with the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).

The visit was a great opportunity to showcase the value of world languages and the pathways for regional students to jumpstart their higher education journeys.

College Credit in High School (CCIHS) courses are taught by UW-Green Bay-approved high school teachers, enabling students to earn college credit while taking courses at their high school. Jodi Resch Brownell is a faculty-approved Spanish Teacher and Global Scholars Advisor at Crandon High School.
