FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 6, 2025

Taught by industry leader Walt Melcher ’92, CEO & Founder, Expert Sales Institute

Green Bay, Wis. — UW-Green Bay is excited to announce the launch of its Sales Accelerator Program, an initiative aimed at addressing a critical challenge faced by small and mid-sized businesses today. The Sales Accelerator Program empowers local businesses to sell strategically by both operationalizing and professionalizing their sales function based on proven techniques and principles.

Specifically tailored for working professionals, the Sales Accelerator Program includes 12 interactive, online modules that provide a comprehensive foundation of skills and processes necessary for success across each step of the sales process. In the current competitive landscape, businesses need high-performing sales professionals as part of their team. In fact, 76% of small and mid-sized businesses relied on sales teams to drive topline revenue in 2023 (Salesforce.com).

“This is an example of a responsive university in action,” said Matt Dornbush, dean of the Cofrin School of Business. “The community came to us with a clear need for professional sales training. We responded by leveraging the talent of our alumni and the expertise in our continuing education team to bring the Sales Accelerator Program to market. I’m really proud of what we’ve created and can deliver to organizations in the state.”

Despite the need, few sales courses teach the full, professional sales process in a format that is affordable and conveniently delivered for salespeople. The Sales Accelerator Program directly addresses this need.

UW-Green Bay alum and Expert Sales Institute CEO and Founder Walt Melcher ’92 delivers the training. Participants should enroll if they are involved in frontline sales (working in the field or internally), a sales support role seeking to sharpen knowledge of the sales process, in sales leadership, or planning to transition into a sales career. This course will equip professionals to become as efficient and effective as possible with key tools and takeaways:

  • Proven Techniques: Gain insights from research and firsthand experiences with some of the most successful sales leaders in the industry.
  • Practical Application: Learn best-practices, implement the lessons and tools from the program in professional and personal interactions in real-time.
  • Live Q&A Sessions: Engage in weekly live Q&A sessions to discover how peers are applying their learnings.
  • Comprehensive Toolkit: Utilize over 30 different sales tools, creating a personalized toolkit to support every stage of the sales process.
  • Skill Assessments: Evaluate current knowledge and the acquired new skills, fostering enduring habits.
