UW fall enrollment exceeds expectations.
Enrollment at the Universities of Wisconsin (UW) is higher than projected this fall by 1,177 students, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. Enrollment data released Tuesday showed that UW campuses have a total of 164,766 students.
Eight schools’ enrollment exceeded last year’s for a collective increase of 2,238 students. Schools projecting higher enrollments this fall outperformed expectations; UW–Madison was responsible for most of the total enrollment increase, with 1,791 students added.
UW schools that made gains in enrollment and outpaced projections include:

UW–Eau Claire;

UW–Green Bay;
-
UW–La Crosse;
-
UW–River Falls; and
-
UW–Superior.
Schools that saw increased enrollment but came in below projections include:

UW–Stevens Point; and
-
UW–Whitewater.
UW schools that lost students but exceeded expectations include:

UW–Milwaukee; and
-
UW–Parkside.
Schools that lost more students than anticipated include:

UW–Oshkosh; and
-
UW–Platteville.
All UW branch campuses apart from UW–Eau Claire at Barron County saw decreased enrollment this fall.
